How to Get a Company's Shareholding Pattern via API
Every listed Indian company discloses its shareholding pattern each quarter to the exchanges — how much is held by promoters, foreign institutional investors (FIIs), domestic institutions (DIIs), and the public. You can pull that breakdown as JSON.
The endpoint
Call GET /v1/stocks/{ticker}/shareholding with your API key. Each row is one quarterly disclosure, dated by as_on_date, with the percentage held by each category and the total share count.
Reading the categories
Promoter, FII, DII, mutual-fund, and individual holdings are all subsets of the total — tracking how promoter or FII holding changes quarter over quarter is a common signal for conviction or exit. The figures are as-disclosed to SEBI, so they reconcile to the company's own filing.

Pair this with mutual-fund holdings to see exactly which schemes make up the DII slice, or open a stock page to see the latest pattern rendered. Full field details are in the API reference.
